Taeyeon reveals Girls’ Generation’s concept in SM’s KWANGYA worldview is called “Goddesses of Sound”

According to Taeyeon, Girls’ Generation is also a group that reflects the worldview of SM Entertainment.

Girls’ Generation held a press conference ahead of the release of their 7th full album “Forever 1” at InterContinental Seoul COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on August 5th. The conference was hosted by SHINee’s Minho. 

This promotion marks Girls’ Generation’s first full-group comeback in about 5 years after they released the 6th full album “Holiday Night” in 2017. Girls’ Generation debuted in 2007 and is celebrating their 15th anniversary this year.

During the press conference, when asked about KWANGYA, SM’s worldview for their artists, leader Taeyeon said, “I know that all SM artists have their own worldview. We also have one. Our concept is “Goddesses of Sound”, but since our agencies are different, some members may not know about this.”

Taeyeon added, “We have this kind of worldview, but we are in a situation where we are still expanding it, so I think we need a bit more time to understand it.”

Regarding Girls’ Generation’s future activities, Taeyeon said, “Actually, after 5 years of individual promotions, we are together now, so I don’t think we have time to think about the past or the future. We don’t even think about the future plans because what matters is the present moment.”

Taeyeon continued, “We hope you will keep an eye on our upcoming activities. We plan to decide on our future direction based on what we felt and learned through this promotion.”

Girls’ Generation’s 7th full album “Forever 1” will be released today (August 5th) at 6 PM KST.
