She confessed, “In the case of ‘half crazy’, raising a child was so difficult that I guess I was crazy because I had successfully endured those hard times”, adding “As for ‘half happy’, I remember I was so happy because my daughter was so pretty and cute that I could completely forget about the hardships.”

When asked about the meaning of the introduction, which says, “a book that turns scars into opportunities”, Kang Hye Jung explained, “I experienced them all. I also got hurt that much. I’ve been through just as much. I started writing this essay book in order to empathize with myself. I just collected and described all the things that hurt me, which either remain as scars or have already been healed. That’s how I made this book”.

She added, “As I wrote the stories one after another, I felt that the parts were getting refined. I actually got healed during the process of writing it, like water coming out from a water purifier.”
