The public was also surprised by these actors’ drastic acting transformation.

Based on a webtoon, it drew attention as Suzy’s next drama after “Anna.” In particular, for Doona, cigarettes appear as her symbolic element. Regarding this, Suzy said, “I felt more thrilling than difficult.” She added, “Cigarettes are the necessary device to explain the character Doona.”

Meanwhile, another actor has attempted cursing and shaving his heads. It’s Yoo Seung Ho. He has attracted great attention for his enthusiastic acting through Wavve’s original drama “The Deal.”

“The Deal” is thriller of two young men who accidentally kidnapped a friend. It is based on a webtoon of the same name. In the drama, Yoo Seung-ho plays Jun-sung, who is caught up in a kidnapping drama and undergoes a fierce emotional change.

Unlike his previous works, Yoo Seung-ho shocked by acting with violent language and smoking scenes. “I remember actually shaking because it was my first time acting like that in front of the camera,” he said in an interview about “The Deal.” It was a scene where I was waiting for the bus while smoking, but my hands were shaking strangely. I was so nervous that it could be seen on the camera screen,” he said.

He also made a surprise confession “I was a smoker, but I quit smoking, but I did it again because of this work.”

As for the shaved hairstyle, “The director actually said he wanted to see short hair. I hope that the shabby appearance will look fun on the outside as well.” It was so comfortable to go to the set in the morning. I don’t have to get my hair done,” he said with a smile.

Some idol-turned-actors have also shown a new side of themselves. Rowoon played the role of male-widow Shim Jeong-woo in KBS 2TV’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “The Matchmakers.” It’s a comic melodrama set in the Joseon dynasty in which the male lead and female lead meet to carry out a “wedding grand operation.”

Regarding his role, Rowoon said, “The drama’s material was fresh,” and added, “I thought about when I would play a widow at this age. I think it is different from my previous work, and I think the genre of comedy is the most difficult.”

All of them drew public attention, showing a 180-degree difference from their previous works. Even though it is not an easy choice, support is being paid to those who continue to make efforts to change their images.
