“Super Shy” enters UK Official chart at No.59, proving NewJeans’s explosive global popularity

NewJeans’s single “Super Shy” succeeded in entering the UK Official Single Chart ‘Top 100’ a week after its release.

“Super Shy”, known as one of the three title songs in the 2nd mini-album “Get Up” of the girl group NewJeans, ranked No.59 on the UK Official Single Chart ‘Top 100’ announced on July 14th (local time).

As such, “Super Shy” became the second song of NewJeans to enter this chart. Earlier in January this year, the girls achieved No.95 with the pre-release song “Ditto” of their single “OMG”. The fact that “Super Shy” made a better start than “Ditto”, which took 4 weeks to enter the UK Official Single Chart ‘Top 100’, showcases NewJeans’s rapid growth.

In addition, NewJeans broke its own highest ranking on Spotify US’s ‘Daily Top Song’ by ranking 9th place (as of July 13th). This achievement makes music fans look forward to the group’s future performance on the US Billboard and UK Official, which are the world’s two largest pop song charts.

Even before starting their full-fledged overseas promotions, NewJeans’s influence has already expanded in the mainstream pop music markets, the US and the UK. On August 3rd, the group will perform at the American music festival ‘Lollapalooza Chicago’. This opportunity will enhance NewJeans’s status and popularity.

NewJeans is already dominating the domestic music charts with an ‘All Kill’ record. “Super Shy” is firmly holding the top spot on various music charts, such as Melon, Genie, Bugs, and Flo. With the upcoming mini-album “Get Up” release on July 21st with a total of six songs, including other title tracks “ETA” and “Cool With You”, ‘NewJeans Syndrome’ is expected to continue.

Meanwhile, NewJeans performed a lively and dynamic stage of “Super Shy” reminiscent of “The Powerpuff Girls” on KBS2’s “Music Bank” early on the 14th and showcased their group’s unique choreography. NewJeans is also scheduled to appear on SBS’s “Inkigayo” on the 16th.
