Super Junior’s Kim Hee Chul about Kang In’s bar assault case, “He’s a real man, he picked a fight with gangsters”

Super Junior’s Kim Hee Chul mentioned Kang In, who withdrew from the group due to various controversies.

Kim Hee Chul appeared on an internet broadcast hosted by BJ Choi on February 9th. The two had a conversation over drinks. Kim Hee Chul got tipsy, so he cursed a lot while sharing stories.

In response to a viewer’s request to tell a story of a Super Junior fight, Kim Hee Chul said, “If I were to talk about the past, Kang In got into an accident and got into trouble. I also scolded him a lot, but there were a few unfair things. He was beaten up many times.”

Kim Hee Chul continued, “Kang In messed up. I scolded him for what he did but there were times I would have done the same. As celebrities, we avoid fights, but Kang In once went to a gangster and said, ‘Hey, you punk. What are you doing?’ The gangster laughed and sarcastically said, ‘Isn’t he a celebrity?’ There was a woman next to Kang In. She wasn’t even close friends with him. Suddenly, Kang In picked a fight with the gangster.”

He added, “Kang In is a real man. He deserves to be criticized for doing something wrong. But Kang In started beating the gangster to protect the woman who got harassed by the gangster. And of course this can’t go on the air.”

Kim Hee Chul said, “He has already left Super Junior.” In response, host Choi explained, “Kim Hee Chul is not trying to clean his image.”

Kim Hee Chul said, “Not at all. Kang In was furious and had to throw hands when it came to women being harassed. He beat those gangsters up like crazy. Of course, he has done a lot of wrong things. I don’t even want to cover him up. But he was really nice, at least from my point of view. We have to live with real loyalty.”

On this day’s broadcast, Kim Hee Chul continued to speak out about the perpetrators of school violence. Kim Hee Chul said, “Those who were violent at school are garbage” and raised both his middle fingers at the camera.

Then, he used expressions referring to sensitive body parts several times and added, “What makes you happy about hitting people?”

Kim Hee- Chul said, “Celebrities should talk about these things more stimulatingly. If I say this, there will be an article tomorrow. Then I would like it better. Because it becomes an issue. School violence should never exist. The XXs who are violent at school should be punished.”

In addition, Kim Hee Chul showed intense excitement by continuing to make remarks on topics that have been controversial recently, such as the boycott of Japan.

Meanwhile, Kim Hee Chul and Kang In debuted together as Super Junior members in 2005. Kang In voluntarily left Super Junior on July 11, 2019.

In 2009, Kang In was involved in an assault case at a bar in Nonhyeon-dong, Seoul due to a fight with a customer, and in the same year, he was involved in a drunk driving scandal. He got off all the programs he was appearing on and self-reflected.

Kang In, who enlisted in 2010 during a period of self-reflection, was discharged in April 2012. He was given a chance to recover his image after completing his military service, but he even kicked that opportunity himself.

In July 2012, Super Junior released the 6th album ‘Sexy, Free&Single’ and Kang In resumed his singing activities after 3 years. However, in 2016, he caused a second drunk driving accident and was fined 7 million won.

In November 2017, when Kang In was in self-reflection for the second time, he assaulted a woman who claimed to be his girlfriend at a bar in Gangnam-gu while drunk, causing controversy. The woman known as the victim did not want to punish Kang In, and no formal charges were filed. Kang In was isolated from the victim and given a warning.
