Sunye’s withdrawal from Wonder Girls that was repeatedly mentioned in the media: What’s her “real reason”?

Sunye reveals “again” why she left Wonder Girls.

News of Sunye’s appearance on Channel A’s “Oh Eun-young’s Golden Counseling Center” was reported. In the upcoming broadcast on September 2nd, Sunye announced that she would reveal the “real reason” why she left Wonder Girls in the past along with the concerns of a mother of three children.

In February, she appeared in four entertainment programs in a month, including tvN’s “Mama The Idol,” SBS’ “Same Dream Different Bed 2 – You Are My Destiny,” MBC’s “Radio Star,” and KBS2’s “Godfather”.

Sunye left her fans in the heyday of Wonder Girls. There were fans cheering for her marriage, but there were also many who criticized that she left the team irresponsibly. She officially withdrew in 2015, and Wonder Girls disbanded in 2017.

The sensational girl group Wonder Girls had slowed down since Sunye’s departure. Sunye appeared on SBS’s “Strong Heart” in 2011 to announce her romantic relationship, and in 2013, she was the first active idol to get married. The Wonder Girls leader’s one-way moves have also hurt the fans who loved her at the time.

Despite having left the entertainment industry to concentrate on marriage, childbirth, and childcare, Sunye seems to have failed to get over her heyday. Sunye shared her current situation and her inner stories on every broadcast she appears on. It’s almost like she is using marriage and parenting, which were the reason for her leaving the entertainment industry, for her return.

During her appearance in “Mama The Idol”, Sunye said, “It was a big issue for me to quit my current activities after getting married”. She added, “It could be sudden news to the public.”

In “Same Bed, Different Dreams 2”, Sunye revealed everything from her first meeting with her husband to her plan to have a fourth child. On “Radio Star”, Sunye said, “I wanted to become a mother because I was the only daughter in my family. I had a dream of starting a family because I lived with my grandmother and grandfather.” She also emphasized that she did not regret getting married, saying, “Looking from the outside, people may think I got married early because of my age, but I see it as a natural time of my life.”

When Sunye appeared in “Godfather”, she asked Kang Joo Eun, “Do you not regret getting married?” Kang Joo Eun responded with a rambling tone, “When I saw him standing on stage at the wedding, I thought, ‘Would it be too late to say that I won’t get married now?’” Sunye sympathized with this and said, “I felt the same.”

After a month of activities in Korea, Sunye returned to Canada. In March, she said on her Instagram, “With ‘My Little Old Boy’ as the last one, my entertainment exploration is over. Now, I will continue to live hard as a mother, work hard, and above all, try to make many good things with music.”

The way Sunye communicates with the public has sparked mixed reactions. In early 2018, she suddenly disappeared after revealing her recent whereabouts through JTBC’s “Stranger” and MBC’s “King of Mask Singer”. Just as she suddenly announced her departure during Wonder Girls promotions, she is repeating the pattern of leaving suddenly and returning unexpectedly.

The fact that the Korean public is no longer excited for Sunye’s return is proof that they have grown tired. Moreover, her repeated story about marriage and childbirth on broadcast has reduced expectations.
