Singer Sunye from famous girl group Wonder Girls will appear in the musical “Ruth”.
On October 26th, the production company for the musical “Ruth” announced that Sunye, a former member of famous girl group Wonder Girls, will be playing the role of the play’s main character, “Ruth”.
The musical “Ruth” is a work that sheds light on the life of a strange woman, “Ruth,” who overcomes life’s adversities and hardships through love. It is based on the world’s best selling Bible story “Ruth”, and is a re-interpretation of the love story between Ruth and Boaz, which the whole family can enjoy.
Sunye, who debuted as the leader of the girl group Wonder Girls in 2007, earned massive love from the public through various hit songs such as “Tell me” and “Nobody”. However, in 2013, she married a Korean missionary from Canada, and in July 2015 she officially left Wonder Girls.
Sunye, who has already become a mother of three daughters, is working as a solo singer after returning through the tvN program “Mama The Idol”, which was released last year.
Attention is focused on what kind of performance Sunye will perform in her first musical “Ruth”, having finally returned to the stage.
Meanwhile, the musical “Ruth” will be performed at the BBCH Hall of Gwanglim Art Center from March 5 to April 2, 2023.
