Sung Hoon To Challenge As Theater Actor Following Park Bo-gum, Kim Yoo-jung & Red Velvet’s Wendy

According to Stallion Entertainment on January 11th, Sung Hoon will appear in the play “Art” at Link Art Center in Daehak-ro, Seoul from February 13th to May 12th. “Art” is a black comedy play that depicts the long-standing friendship of three men who fall apart then come together again by chance.

Sung Hoon will play Serge, a sophisticated dermatologist who develops an interest in arts, which is the beginning of the conflict between the three men. In particular, “Art” will show how the friendship of the three men falls apart so easily through their daily conversations and portray the inner selfishness and jealousy of humans as they go to the extreme without hesitation.

Sung Hoon made his debut in 2011 with the drama “New Tales of Gisaeng”. Later, he made his face known to the public through dramas such as “The Birth of a Family”, “Passionate Love”, “Five Enough”, “My Secret Romance”, “Level Up”, “Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce)”, “Woori the Virgin”, “Perfect Marriage Revenge”, etc. For him, “Art” is his first challenge with a theater play in 13 years since his debut.

Through his agency, Sung Hoon said, “I’m very excited to perform my first theater challenge. I had always wanted to do this regardless of role or character”.

Earlier, Park Bo-gum, Kim Yoo-jung, Choi Soo-young, Kim Se-jeong, and Han Hye-jin also made headlines when they took on musical and play challenges for the first time since their debut.

Park Bo-gum tried the musical “Let Me Fly” in September last year. His first musical attempt was successful as it recorded sold-out shows. The shows with Park Bo-gum’s appearance were sold out as soon as ticket sales opened. The actor will continue meeting the audience through “Let Me Fly” in Daegu on the 18th and 19th of January. In addition, he was even nominated for Best Male Actor at the 8th Korea Musical Awards.

Kim Yoo-jung appeared in “Shakespeare in Love” in January last year. Revealing her thoughts, the actress said, “I really wanted to challenge a play. It was like a dream to me and I really appreciate this opportunity”. Red Velvet’s Wendy made her musical debut through the 10th-anniversary performance of “Rebecca”. She shared, “I learned so many things while performing the musical and I was excited every time I stood on the stage”.
