“4: Clean Island”, a special episode in “Persona: Sulli”, will be released at the end of this month
According to the production company Mystic Story, the short film “4: Clean Island” will greet the audience with a single-view premiere at Laika Cinema in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, starting on September 27th.
Containing Choi Jin-ri (Sulli)’s deep inner acting, “4: Clean Island” is a movie that begins with 4 who dreams of moving to ‘Clean Island’, the cleanest place in the world, telling the story about a special pig at the immigration checkpoint where people can only pass if they confess their sins. In addition to Choi Jin-ri, actors Hwang Mi-young and Park Ga-bi will also appear to enhance the film’s completeness.
The script of “4: Clean Island” was written by screenwriter Kim Ji Hye of the movie “Hope” and the drama “Lost”. It was co-directed by writer Kim Ji Hye and director Hwang Soo Ah, who made various music videos and the movie “Why Did You Come To My House”. The two have worked together several times through numerous music videos and films.
The production team shared, “We wanted to show the grown-up appearance of actress Choi Jin-ri (Sulli) to the people who have loved Sulli for a long time and audiences who love movies so much that we couldn’t give up on this emotionally challenging work”, adding “Throughout the project, we once again realized how beautiful she was, and we hope this will help people accept her and this work as they are, as she always wished.”
Meanwhile, “Persona: Sulli” consists of two short films starring Choi Jin-ri (Sulli), which are the short film “4: Clean Island” and the feature documentary “Dear Jinri”. It will be released in the second half of this year. “4: Clean Island” will premiere in only one theater at Leika Cinema on the 27th, while “Dear Jinri” will be screened at the 28th Busan International Film Festival on October 4th.
