Mnet’s “Street Woman Fighter 2” (hereinafter referred to as SWF 2) returned with more powerful dance battles.
In episode 1 on August 22nd, after the stormy initial meeting of the eight crews gathering to claim the top spot in global dance rankings, “No Respect Nomination Battle” took place. The broadcast achieved a nationwide rating of 1.5% (according to Nielsen Korea).
The full-fledged start of “SWF 2” featured a face-to-face meeting of the eight crews. Led by renowned choreographers, these crews included various styles such as BEBE led by Bada, a collaborator with K-POP acts like EXO Kai, NCT and aespa; DEEP N DAP led by choreographer Mina Myoung, responsible for K-POP artists like Jay Park, Jessi, Red Velvet and TWICE; Worldwide Avengers Crew JAM REPUBLIC; LADYBOUNCE, a 15-year-running domestic female hip-hop crew; MANNEQUEEN led by Yoon Ji, Funky Y and Waackxxxy; TSUBAKILL led by Akanen and Sayaka; and the original street hip-hop crew Wolf’Lo. These eight crews engaged in fierce battles within the fight zone.
The show’s signature mission, “No Respect Nomination Battle”, began in earnest. 1MILLION’s view queen Redy pointed out BEBE’s leader Bada as “No Respect” dancer. However, Bada’s graceful moves proved insurmountable, resulting in her victory.
Subsequent matches included a showdown between Korea and New Zealand. Kirsten, a former member of the world-renowned dance crew Royal Family, pointed out “Waacking Monster” Waackxxxy for a battle. The battle between the two showcased impressive performances, with Kirsten emerging as the winner.
Other battles unfolded, including one between 1MILLION’s human vitamin Harimu and MANNEQUEEN’s Redlic, who was once Harimu’s fellow crew member. Harimu emerged victorious.
The show continued with battles involving JAM REPUBLIC’s Audrey, who gained attention for her cute and charming presence but was also heavily nominated for “No Respect”. She faced off against DEEP N DAP’s Soll and LADYBOUNCE’s Vessi.
Another significant match was between Lia Kim and Mina Myoung. The connection between 1MILLION and DEEP N DAP was revealed, adding to the intrigue. As Mina Myoung was once 1MILLION’s member along with Lia Kim, it was actually a battle between old 1MILLION and current 1MILLION.
Besides, the evaluation of crew performance videos to determine the final winning crew began simultaneously with the broadcast. Viewers can vote until the day of the final live broadcast through official platforms.
“SWF 2” airs every Tuesday at 10 PM.
