BTS Members All Enter Billboard Hot 100 Chart As Solo Artists

BTS members dominate Billboard Hot 100 Chart with solo tracks

As of August 22, 2023 (local time), BTS members each secured a spot on the US Billboard chart ‘Hot 100’.

According to the latest chart released by Billboard on August 26th (local time), Jungkook’s ‘Seven (feat. Latto)’ claimed the top positions on the ‘Global 200’ and ‘Global (excluding US)’ charts. Among Korean solo artists, Jungkook maintained the top spot on this chart for 5 consecutive weeks. On the Billboard main song chart, the ‘Hot 100’, Jungkook’s ‘Seven’ ranked 30th, marking its 5th consecutive week on the chart.

Additionally, V’s upcoming solo album, ‘Layover,’ set to be released on the 8th of next month, had its track ‘Love Me Again,’ which was pre-released on the 11th of this month, debut at 96th place. It also claimed the 1st spot on ‘World Digital Song Sales,’ 3rd on ‘Digital Song Sales,’ 6th on ‘Global (excluding US),’ and 12th on ‘Global 200.’

Furthermore, this is the second time V entries on the ‘Hot 100’ as a solo artist. His song ‘Christmas Tree,’ which is the OST of SBS drama ‘Our Beloved Summer’, rose to 79th place on the ‘Hot 100’ chart on January 8, 2022.

In April, 2023, Jimin’s solo album title track, ‘Like Crazy,’ helped him become the first Korean solo artist to top the Hot 100 chart. In addition, Suga’s track “Haegeum” successfully made it to the Hot 100 chart this May, debuting at No. 58.

Moreover, J-Hope’s single “on the street” (featuring J-Cole) debuted at No. 60 on the Hot 100. Earlier, on December 17, RM’s title track “Wild Flower” (featuring Cho Youjeen) debuted at No. 83 on the Hot 100. The eldest BTS member – Jin also earned his first solo entry on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated Nov. 12), thanks to his solo song, “The Astronaut.”

With this achievement, all BTS members have entered the ‘Hot 100’ chart with solo tracks. BTS has previously charted on the ‘Hot 100’ several times with group songs, collaborations with various artists, features, and participation in OSTs.

Meanwhile, V is set to release his first solo album ‘Layover’ in collaboration with Min Hee-jin on the 8th of next month.
