Angered by BBC’s shameless behavior, staff members and show writer spoke up to defend Chuu

Former staff members shared their positive working experience with Chuu against the apparent slander from her company.

Yesterday, LOONA’s management company, Blockberry Creative, released their statement to remove Chuu from her group on the basis of power abuse and verbal abuse towards her staff but did not enclose any relevant supporting evidence. Afterwards, various employees and staff she worked with before expressed their anger against BBC’s alleged ‘smear campaign’ and spoke up about the issue.

The Chuu Can Do it writer posted: “On the first day of recording for Chuu Can Do It, I was almost frozen from working outdoors. Chuu held my hand tightly, constantly thanked me and reminded me to go home, drank something warm and rested a lot. She worried for me until I reached home”, “No matter how tough the recording was, Chuu always asked if I was fine or tired and Chuu always said she was fine and not tired at all. She said: ‘The manager and the staff worked much harder than me hehe’. Chuu always showed her gratitude for the employee. How could she abuse power? So ridiculous.”

A staff member working with Chuu for two months shared: “Even in my dream I could not think of the day Chuu got into a scandal about her personality. Chuu always cared for other people, those who had to work outside and made sure that the staff would not have to pay from their own pocket. Chuu asked if I had eaten anything, if I was thirsty and even gave me her drink. Chuu is a kind person.”

Another staff member shared their story: “Chuu asked me if I had eaten anything and I replied I did not have the time to eat. She immediately said that could not be [because] skipping meals is not good for health and I should have at least eaten some kimbap. After that, Chuu ran to the convenience store to buy kimbap so the staff would not feel starving. Chuu was that kind… How could a girl like that abuse her power and show attitude to the staff?”

A staff working with her in a commercial shooting: “Power abuse? There is no such thing. Chuu is one of the rare celebrities with an amazing personality and always happily greets her staff on set even though she is tired. There is no previous example of a company admitting to power play, self-exposing and voluntarily posting it online. What nonsense.”
