When asked about the timing of “Squid Game 2” release, Yang Dong-geun said, “We’re in the middle of filming right now. I’m not sure but I think it’ll be released next year.”

Ever since its release in September 2021, Netflix’s original series “Squid Game” has achieved remarkable results, such as recording the highest viewing time in Netflix history and winning 6 Emmy Awards trophies.

After the production of Season 2 was confirmed, “Squid Game” production team did not allow spoilers. At a press conference in September last year, director Hwang Dong-hyuk emphasized, “Season 2 games are all planned but it shouldn’t be revealed now. The games contribute greatly to the fun of watching the drama”.

As such, expectations are higher for Season 2 of “Squid Game” as they are filming while trying to keep secret of the content.

Meanwhile, “Squid Game 2” stars Season 1 actor Lee Jung-jae, and new faces, such as Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-joon, Gong Yoo, Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Jo Yu-ri, Yang Dong-geun, and T.O.P.
