In a recent YouTube content, aespa’s Ningning predicted fried eggplants as the next viral Chinese food in Korea after Malatang and Tanghulu
On December 10, a new video was uploaded on the YouTube channel Psick Univ, featuring aespa’s Giselle and Ningning as special guests.
Here, the host mentioned that Korean people love Chinese food, and recalled the huge popularity of Chinese dishes such as Malatang and Tanghulu.
He then asked Ningning, the Chinese member of aespa, to predict the next viral Chinese dish, to which Ningning hesitantly responded, “I think fried…. Eggplant?”
The female idol then went on to explain that this dish consists of eggplants, potatoes, and some meat, whilst Giselle mentioned the name of the dish, Jisamsun.
Upon hearing this, the host quickly told the filming crew to cut out Ningning’s prediction, playfully claiming that he will start a restaurant focusing on fried eggplant and be the first to ride the trend.
Meanwhile, Ningning and Giselle both bursted into laughter, before discussing further trends like the next viral animal after pandas.
