Song Joong Ki’s hit K-drama “Vincenzo” to be adapted into a musical in Japan

The drama “Vincenzo,” starring Song Joong Ki as lead, will be transformed into a musical in Japan.

Production company Studio Dragon announced on May 17th, “The musical remake of tvN drama ‘Vincenzo’ will begin in Kobe, Japan on August 11th, and will also have its premiere in Tokyo and Osaka.

“Vincenzo” depicts the story of mafia consigliere Vincenzo Cassano (Song Joong Ki), who comes to Korea from Italy due to internal conflicts within the organization, and gets entangled with veteran ruthless lawyer Hong Cha Young (Jeon Yeo Been) as they team up and seek justice together.

Actor Wada Masanari will play Vincenzo, while Higashimura Suzuka, a member of the idol group Hinatazaka46, will take on the role of Hong Cha Young.

The musical adaptation of “Vincenzo” is being handled by the Japanese company Avex Pictures, a subsidiary of Avex, one of Japan’s leading entertainment companies.

On the same day, Korea’s Studio Dragon signed a business agreement with Avex Pictures and decided to strengthen their partnership.
