Song Ji-hyo On Being In Top 5 Gold Spoons Of K-biz, “It’s My Parents’ Retirement Money”
Actress Song Ji-hyo explained the rumor of her being a gold spoon.
On July 13th, the latest episode of the YouTube show “Pingyego” was posted on the channel “Ddeun Ddeun,” featuring Haha, Song Ji-hyo and Ji Seok-jin as guests.
In this video, host Yoo Jae-seok said, “There is a rumor that Ji-hyo’s family is very rich because her father runs a shipping business in Tongyeong.” Ha-ha said, “You (Song Ji-hyo) are in the top 5 of the list of gold spoon (people with rich parents) celebrities.”
In response, Song Ji-hyo waved her hands and said, “It’s money for my mother and father’s retirement. They used to run a shabu-shabu restaurant, but now they run a ship business in Yokji island.”
Song Ji-hyo also revealed, “I haven’t been able to go on a family trip for eight years because of my dog,” adding, “There are not many airplanes or hotels that allow large dogs. But I think I should go on vacation with my dog this year. I used to like leisure sports, but my life has completely changed since my dog came to me.”
Earlier, Song revealed her parents’ job in an episode of SBS’ “Running Man.” “My parents are running a ferry business in Tongyeong,” she said. Yoo Jae-suk joked that Song Ji-hyo will be nicknamed “the daughter of Tongyeong” from now on. Under the pressure of “chaebol rumors,” Song said, “My parents are my parents and I am me. That’s why I didn’t talk about my parents often.”
Song Ji-hyo’s father is said to be running a big shipping company in Tongyeong. His company operates a passenger ship linking the port of Beijing to Yokji Island and Yeonhwa Island.
