Song Hye Kyo nominated for Best Actress, Song Joong Ki eliminated from the list of nominees at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards

As the final nominees for the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards were announced, the divorced couple Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki had divergent outcomes.

The Baeksang Arts Awards recently announced the final nominees for each category, selecting those who have excelled in TV, film, and theater over the past year.

Among the nominees, Song Hye Kyo was selected as a finalist for Best Actress for her performance in Netflix’s original series “The Glory.” Other nominees in the same category include Kim Ji Won from JTBC’s “My Liberation Notes,” Kim Hye Soo from tvN’s “Under The Queen’s Umbrella,” Park Eun Bin from ENA’s “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” and Suzy from Coupang Play’s “Anna.”

However, Song Joong Ki was unfortunately not among the nominees for Best Actor. The finalists for Best Actor include Son Seok Koo from JTBC’s “My Liberation Notes,” Lee Byung Hun from tvN’s “Our Blues,” Jung Kyung Ho from “Crash Course in Romance,” Lee Sung Min from JTBC’s “Reborn Rich,” and Choi Min Sik from Disney+’s “Casino.”

Song Joong Ki played the lead role in JTBC’s “Reborn Rich” and led the drama, but the nomination went to Lee Sung Min, who delivered an impressive performance. Thus, Song Joong Ki was eliminated from the list of nominees for this year’s Baeksang Arts Awards.

However, Song Joong Ki is scheduled to attend the 76th Cannes Film Festival, where his movie “Bogota” has been officially invited, along with Song Kang Ho.

The 59th Baeksang Arts Awards will be held on April 28th at Paradise City on Yeongjong Island, Incheon. The event will be broadcast live on JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC4, as well as on TikTok.
