Song Ha-yoon’s school violence allegations, the actual school transfer timing is different “‘Compulsion’ is the key”

Amid allegations of school violence, it has been confirmed that the timing and compulsory nature of actress Song Ha-yoon's transfer during her high school years differ from the claims made by the informant

According to OSEN on April 7th, the actual timing of Song Ha-yoon’s transfer during her high school years was found to be different from the claims made by “Scandal Supervisor” informant. The informant, who first raised allegations of school violence against Song Ha-yoon on JTBC’s “Scandal Supervisor”, claimed that Song Ha-yoon transferred at the end of August 2004. However, it was revealed that Song Ha-yoon’s transfer actually occurred at the end of July, earlier than claimed by the informant.

According to entertainment industry insiders, Song Ha-yoon transferred from Banpo High School in Seoul to Apgujeong High School at the end of July 2004, during her third year of high school. It has not yet been confirmed whether this transfer corresponds to the compulsory transfer under the “Grade 8” punishment measure for school bullies. The industry insiders express concerns as the clear reasons for the transfer during the critical period of the third year of high school, when transfers are generally avoided and focus is placed on school life, remain unexplained.

Allegations of school violence against Song Ha-yoon surfaced when they were revealed on JTBC’s “Scandal Supervisor” on April 1st. At that time, an anonymous male informant disclosed shocking details of how actress S, who was a year senior to him in high school when he was in his second year, slapped him for 90 minutes without any reason. Later, actress S was identified as Song Ha-yoon.

Song Ha-yoon’s agency King Kong by Starship stated through a press release that night, “After checking the facts with the actress about the informant’s claims, we confirm that the actress has never met the informant and all the claims are not true.” However, allegations of school violence against Song Ha-yoon continued to spread. The controversy escalated further with additional reports from “Scandal Supervisor” and the dissemination through YouTube channels, SNS and various online communities.

Amidst this, various speculations arose regarding Song Ha-yoon’s transfer timing and whether it was compulsory. The year 2004, when Song Ha-yoon was in her third year of high school, marked the enactment and enforcement of the “Act on the Prevention and Handling of School Violence”. The law was enacted on January 29th and began enforcement on July 30th of the same year. It is therefore speculated whether Song Ha-yoon’s transfer at that time falls under the “Grade 8” punishment measure, which corresponds to the compulsory transfer of perpetrators in cases of school violence.

However, King Kong’s stance remains cautious. While acknowledging Song Ha-yoon’s transfer during her third year of high school, they remain reserved regarding the reasons, timing and compulsory nature of the transfer, stating they are “confirming“. Initially taking a firm stance of “All the claims are not true“, they have become more cautious, leaving room for further debate. Meanwhile, additional revelations about Song Ha-yoon’s behavior during her school days have surfaced, adding to the ongoing controversy and increasing public fatigue.
