Actress Son Ye-jin made a rare mention of her 4-year-old son during her appearance on the YouTube channel Fairy Jaehyung. The September 20 episode, titled “For the First Time, Son Ye-jin Packs a Dessert Recipe to Go”, was filmed before she left for the 82nd Venice International Film Festival.
While enjoying dishes prepared by host Jung Jae-hyung, Son Ye-jin explained her dietary restrictions: “I’m on a strict diet because I’ll be attending Venice soon. I really want to eat everything, but I have to be careful.”
Jung Jae-hyung teased her, recalling her love of food: “She’s usually a big eater,” to which Son Ye-jin laughed in surprise: “How do you know that? Is it that well-known?”
When Jung Jae-hyung emphasized that his Caesar salad was made with organic ingredients, Son Ye-jin clarified: “That’s okay, I’m not that picky. I only pay extra attention when it comes to my child’s food.”
The candid remark offered a glimpse of Son Ye-jin’s life as a devoted mother. Married to fellow actor Hyun Bin in early 2022, the couple welcomed their son in November of the same year.
Despite joking about dieting, Son Ye-jin was seen happily eating throughout the shoot, with producers humorously captioning the scene “Diet Abandoned.”
Fans will next see her on the big screen in director Park Chan-wook’s film It No Other Choice, set for release on September 24.
