Actor So Ji-sub, who suddenly announce his marriage 2 years ago, revealed the reason for his comeback after 4 years

“I was intrigued by the story of a doctor-turned-lawyer”, said So Ji Sub. 

So Ji Sub is set to return in MBC’s upcoming Fri-Sat drama “Doctor Lawyer”, a suspenseful medical and legal drama. It depicts the story of a genius surgeon who has everything taken away from him due to a rigged operation. He later returns as a lawyer and becomes a prosecutor in the Medical Crimes Division.

So Ji Sub plays the main character, doctor-turned-lawyer Han Yi Han, a man with excellent skills, cool judgment, and humanity. He stands at the center of a whirlwind of events taking place in the drama.

Regarding the reason why selected “Doctor Lawyer” to return to the small screen, So Ji Sub said, “I found the setting of being a lawyer who was previously a doctor unique and interesting. I chose it because I thought I could show various sides of myself.”

More than anything, So Ji Sub was drawn to the character Han Yi Han. He added, “From a doctor to a lawyer, it’s the same person, but it’s a character that shows emotions and goal consciousness that come from completely different situations.” He continued, “I believe this is a fun character that can show a variety of charms.”

To premiere on June 3rd, “Doctor Lawyer” is going to be So Ji Sub’s first drama after 4 years. Previously, he received much love from viewers for his role as agent Kim Bon of the National Intelligence Service in the 2018 mystery rom-com drama “My Secret Terrius”.
