So Ji Sub finally did this in the 27th year of his debut at fans’ request

Here’s an explanation of his first post on Instagram!

On September 5th, actor So Ji Sub opened a personal Instagram account for the first time since his debut. His username ‘soganzi_51‘ is a combination of his agency 51K founded by himself and his nickname ‘Soganzi’.

The first post on So Ji Sub’s account was a picture of a modeling pictorial that he took at the beginning of his debut with the caption, “This was the beginning… #Storm”.

Fans were welcoming So Ji Sub to Instagram with enthusiastic responses such as “Is it a real account?” “Finally,” “You are finally on Instagram”, “I hope you will post often”.

So Ji Sub debuted in the entertainment industry by winning the Storm Model Contest and becoming an exclusive model for the jeans brand Storm in 1995. At the age of 19, he caught the public’s attention with his handsome, boyish visuals and awesome physique.

Because of his tall height and strong, muscular body, So Ji Sub earned the nickname ‘Soganzi’ from the 2004 KBS 2TV’s drama “I’m Sorry, I Love You”. He was recognized for both his looks and acting skills, and soon became one of Korea’s top stars.

So Ji Sub has since appeared in various well-known dramas such as “What Happened in Bali”, “Cain and Abel”, “Master’s Sun”, “Oh My Venus” and movies “Be You You”, “Always”, “The Battleship Island”, etc.

In 2018, he won an acting Daesang (Grand Prize) for the first time in 24 years of debut for his performance in MBC’s drama “My Secret Terrius”.

After “My Secret Terrius”, So Ji Sub’s activities slowed down. In 2020, he surprised the public with the announcement of his surprise marriage to announcer Jo Eun Jung, who is 17 years younger than him.

The two were blessed by many people for their beautiful good deed of donating 50 million won instead of holding a grand wedding ceremony.

So Ji Sub, who recently returned with the MBC drama “Doctor Lawyer” after marriage and showed a good performance, has also been active on the large screen with appearances in the movie “Alienoid” and “Confession”.

Meanwhile, 51K, the current agency of So Ji Sub, was established by the actor himself in 2009, and is investing heavily in cultural contents such as movies and performances and working beyond a simple celebrity agency.

An example of So Ji Sub’s non-acting promotion was his hip-hop album, which was released in 2011 and received harsh comments like “It’s a waste of money” and “The money earned from acting is now being blown away on music”. Now, So Ji Sub and his company is focusing on the importing and investment of overseas works in various genres.
