SM’s best unit of 7 female idols “GOT The Beat” performed their first stage on a music show

GOT The Beat, a project group of SM Entertainment, performed on a music show for the first time.

On January 27th, GOT The Beat performed the title song “Step Back” on Mnet’s “M Countdown”.  Although the girl group once showed the performance of “Step Back” at an online concert hosted by SM Entertainment, fans paid more attention to the recent performance because it was their first music show activity.

7 members of GOT The Beat appeared in intense all-black outfits with silver chains wrapping around their bodies and performed a powerful stage. Even though the members are from different groups, they surprised the viewers by showing perfectly synchronized dance and solid vocals as if they were originally debuted as one group.

Moreover, matching with the title song “Step Back”, the members decorated the stage with amazing choreographies, such as pointing their hands backward and changing dance moves from time to time. Centering on BoA, main dancers Seulgi and Hyoyeon showed such a splendid dance break that the viewers couldn’t take their eyes off the performance. The fancam video easily exceeded 1.3 million views a day after it was released, proving the potential of a unit combined with SM’s leading female singers.

Meanwhile, GOT The Beat is SM’s first girl group unit that has been introduced this year.  Led by BoA, the group consists of 7 members in total. Other members are Girls’ Generation TaeyeonHyoyeon, Red Velvet Seulgi – Wendy, and aespa KarinaWinter. “Step Back” is a hip-hop R&B song written and composed by SM’s famous composer Yoo Young-jin. It expresses a woman’s desire to protect her love with high self-esteem attitudes.
