SHINee’s Twitter account paid tribute to the late singer-songwriter of the group, Jonghyun, on the fifth anniversary of his passing
Fans and family are remembering the late artist on his fifth anniversary.
SHINee’s Jonghyun is missed by a lot of fans
On December 18th, SHINee‘s official SNS account posted a photo of Jonghyun standing on the stage with a short phrase, “I will always love you.” Many members of the public, including Shawols, expressed their condolences for Jonghyun’s passing at such a young age.
On December 18, 2017, the late Jonghyun passed away at 27. He had suffered from depression and was found dead at a residence in Seoul. The sudden passing of the singer-songwriter shocked the public, the entertainment industry as well as fans.
Jonghyun showed a remarkable talent for composition and songwriting
Jonghyun always showed an outstanding singing ability and genius musicality as a singer-songwriter. He was credited for composing many of SHINee’s hit songs, as well as filling his solo album with his own songs.
Jonghyun was also known to have written songs for other singers and groups, such as EXO, IU, and Lee Hi. Following Jonghyun’s passing, his family established a non-profit foundation called the “Shinin’ Foundation.”
The “Shinin’ Foudation”, taking after a title of Jong-hyun’s solo song, is a venture that encourages the growth of artists devoted to cultural and artistic activities and supports them to improve their abilities.
Moreover, after his death, Jonghyun’s Instagram account is still open. On the fifth anniversary, fans are paying tribute to the artist by leaving comments expressing their longing.
