Shin Hye-sun Reveals Special Relationship With Co-star Lee Joon-young, “My Dad And His Uncle Are Friends”

Actress Shin Hye-sun explained the unexpected reason she became close to Lee Joon-young

Shin Hye-sun had an interview with News1 about her upcoming movie “Brave Citizen” (director Park Jin-pyo) at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on October 19th.

During the interview, the actress shared, “Lee Joon-young is very mature. It doesn’t mean I’m immature, but I don’t think I’m mature either. When I’m with Joon-young, I feel like he’s an older brother”.

She continued, “Due to the nature of this movie, I relied on Joon-young a lot. Joon-young is good at doing action scenes, while I’m a novice action actor. That’s why Joon-young was like a reliable older brother to me.”

Both Shin Hye-sun and Lee Joon-young are shy, but they feel more comfortable with each other after filming the movie. Apart from their cooperation in action scenes, there is one more decisive reason that helped them become close.

Shin Hye-sun explained, “Joon-young’s uncle and my dad are longtime friends. So our families know each other well. I thought there were no celebrities among the people around me, but one day, Dad told me that there was a celebrity among the children in his friend’s family. He added that the celebrity kid was going to film a movie. I asked, ‘What movie?’, and in the end, I found out that he was Joon-young, and he was filming with me.”

The actress added, “So I asked Joon-young if he knew about that and he said he heard the same story. At the VIP Premiere, Joon-young’s family and my family also came and we took photos together. I felt like we’ve become so much closer”.

“Brave Citizen” is a webtoon-based action movie about So Si-min (Shin Hye-sun), a fixed-term teacher who pretends to not care about injustice, facing the evil deeds of Han Soo-gang, a villain who crosses the line.

The movie will premiere on October 25th.
