Actress Shim Eun Ha’s manager strongly denied rumors of her return to the entertainment industry.
On Feb 1st, while Shim Eun Ha’s husband Ji Sang Wook denied rumors of his wife’s return to the entertainment industry, the production company BY4M Studio, which said that they signed a contract with Shim Eun Ha, confirmed her return.
In this regard, an official in charge of Shim Eun Ha’s entertainment business told donga.com on Feb 1st, “Shim Eun Ha’s signing a contract with BY4M Studio is groundless. Since last year, the same production company has been talking about Shim Eun Ha’s return, and it is clear that we will take legal action against this.”
They took a firm stance, “Shim Eun Ha has never contacted the production company or received scripts through the production company. BY4M Studio is taking advantage of Shim Eun Ha. We will not look on idly.”
They added, “Actress Shim Eun Ha herself is open to returning to the entertainment industry. She is constantly receiving scripts, but she is just waiting for a ‘good’ script.”
On this day, Shim Eun Ha’s husband Ji Sang Wook denied rumors of his wife’s return, but BY4M Studio attracted attention by presenting a contradictory position, “Last year, we signed a contract with Shim Eun Ha to appear in a work and paid a down payment. We are aiming to finalize and produce her comeback work this year.”
In March last year, when rumors of her return first surfaced, Shim Eun Ha also expressed the same position, “It is groundless. We will look into taking legal action.”
Shim Eun Ha, who debuted in 1993 through MBC’s “Three Families Under One Roof”, became a top star with “The Last Match”. She swept “Best Actress” awards at various film festivals, including the 1998 Blue Dragon Film Awards, thanks to the movie “Christmas in August”, but announced her retirement in 2001.
In 2005, she was once again in the spotlight when she announced her marriage to Ji Sang Wook. They have two daughters. Shim Eun Ha’s two daughters drew attention by making a special appearance in the movie “Operation Chromite”.
