Seoul tourism promotional video featuring BTS V surpasses 10 million views within a day

BTS V received explosive reactions with his unrivaled charm in the promotional video for Seoul tourism

On September 1st, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Tourism Organization uploaded a video titled “[SEOUL X V of BTS] Seoul Edition23 – New Tradition” on the YouTube channel “VisitSeoul TV”.

Within a day of its release, the first 15-second campaign video surpassed 10 million views, proving its virality and signaling the success of the campaign.

In the video, V introduced Seoul with a narration. He said, “Past fashion trends are reborn. Cherished treasures set the backdrop for the coolest trends. And traditional markets now with a modern twist. Gwanghwamun Square fills the air with art. Isn’t it tempting? Seoul is the here and now. Seoul, make it yours”.

V captivated viewers with his trendy and sophisticated charms as well as his signature low-tone voice. 

While BTS has been serving as Seoul’s honorary tourism ambassador for seven years since 2017, it is notable that V appears as a solo model for Seoul tourism promotional video this year to introduce the beauty of Seoul to the world.

The campaign, which presents Seoul’s new city brand ‘Seoul, My Soul’ to the world, is promoted through outdoor media in six big cities, including Times Square in New York, Tokyo (Japan), and Shanghai (China), and major global TV channels, such as CNN and NBC.

Gil Ki Yeon, CEO of Seoul Tourism Organization, shared, “Through this Seoul Edition campaign introduced by V, we will let people around the world see the unique newtro charm and the natural beauty in the center of the city that encourages visitors to Seoul”.
