Adultery is a common theme in the K-drama world, and there are many notable actresses who took on the roles of mistresses.
Evil K-drama female characters can give the best revenge through stealing the husbands of their close sisters. Yet, these characters are not always irredeemable, and they often make the show more interesting. Here are some remarkable mistresses and wives of K-drama land.
Goo Eun Jae & Shin Ae Ri – Temptation of Wife (2008)
In “Temptation of Wife”, Goo Eun Jae (Jang Seo Hee) and Shin Ae Ri (Kim Seo Hyung) are as close as sisters despite having no biological connections, as the orphaned Ae Ri was raised by Eun Jae’s family since she was 10. And yet, she paid back her benefactors by seducing Eun Jae’s husband behind their backs.
Even worse, this mistress and the cheating husband even tried to harm Goo Eun Jae after she learned the truth. The tricks and antics this couple created was next to none, and the villainy of Shin Ae Ri was rather impressive.
Shim Su Ryeon & Oh Yoon Hee – The Penthouse: War In Life (2020)
While Shim Su Ryeon (Lee Ji Ah) and Oh Yoon Hee (Eugene) cleared up all their misunderstanding and became partner-in-crime later on, the interaction between Oh Yoon Hee and Joo Dan Tae (Uhm Ki Joon), who is Shim Su Ryeon’s husband, made it rather awkward. To many people, despite the hectic nature of “The Penthouse: War In Life”, this detail is still unacceptable, especially after Shim Su Ryeon helping Oh Yoon Hee in various occasions.
It’s fortunate that Shim Su Ryeon was able to be the better person, and collaborated with Oh Yoon Hee, despite the latter working with her husband and even accidentally harming her daughter.
Han Sun Joo & Yoon Mi Ra – Show Window: The Queen’s House (2021)
There’s nothing better than watching women supporting women, though perhaps with the exception of “Show Window: The Queen’s House”. In this series, the female lead Han Sung Joo (Song Yoon Ah) also cheered on and supported Yoon Mi Ra (Jeon So Mi) in her pursuit of a “dream man”, only to later learn that Yoon Mi Ra seduced her husband.
Yoon Mi Ra, the mistress of Show Window: The Queen’s House, is equally shameless and intrusive. She ultimately has to pay the price for the wrongdoings she did towards Han Sun Joo, who treated her as a sister.
Kim Sun Bin & Han So Ra – Eve (2022)
It’s a little different in this case since Kim Sun Bin (Seo Ye Ji) wants to approach Han So Ra and her husband simply for revenge. Therefore, the relationship between Kim Sun Bin and Han So Ra is not as sincere as that between Shim Su Ryeon – Oh Yoon Hee or Han Sun Joo – Yoon Mi Ra.
Even though Kim Sun Bin’s retaliation was bad, Han So Ra should have to pay this price for what she did to Sun Bin’s family.
Since Sun Bin’s purpose is different from that of the other characters, she might end up with a different ending.
