Sasaeng fans who followed ATEEZ with “location trackers” finally got “true education”

Sasaeng fans who illegally attached location trackers to idol group ATEEZ’s vehicle have been convicted.

On August 26th, the agency KQ Entertainment announced, “We have taken legal action regarding the action of invading ATEEZ’s privacy.”

KQ Entertainment shared, “The perpetrators wanted leniency. However, our agency has set a precedent for those who take our privacy violations lightly and we will continue our policy of non-agreement and non-leniency to prevent further damage.”

The agency went on to say, “The perpetrators were found guilty of violating the Act on the Protection and Use of location information.”

The agency added, “We would like to inform you that we will proceed with additional civil lawsuits against other criminal charges.”

Finally, KQ Entertainment emphasized, “Please refrain from following and trying to get a hold of ATEEZ’s personal information as well as schedules other than the official schedule in the future.”

Previously, the agency once said on ATEEZ’s official fancafe, “We have informed you several times about fan club etiquette and prohibiting fans from visiting artists during their private schedules and in private spaces, but there are still cases of privacy violation through illegal activities.”

At that time, KQ Entertainment shared, “Despite the restraints of the staff, extreme behaviors such as following artists to their private areas have obstructed the company’s business and caused artists to suffer psychological pain.”

The agency declared a tough response, “In particular, we recently caught a situation in which someone had attached a location tracking device to artists’ work vehicles to collect information about their location illegally. We are requesting the competent police station to track down the culprits.”

KQ Entertainment spoke up, “We will punish these people without any agreement.”
