Sandara Park Comments On Her SM-style Visual, “I Would Have Been Eliminated From Girls’ Generation”

Singer Sandara Park revealed honest thoughts about her SM-style visual and explained the meaning of 2NE1

Sandara Park guested on the March 22nd broadcast of SBS PowerFM’s “Cultwo Show” with Brian.

During the radio show, DJ Kim Tae-gyun asked Sandara Park, “I heard many people say you have SM-style visual, but you couldn’t join Girls’ Generation?”. In response, Sandara Park said, “Not only my fans but even non-fans also say ‘Sandara Park is SM’s style’. I may look like an SM idol, but I’m a gangster inside. I like hip-hop so I went to YG. If I went to SM, I would be eliminated (from Girls’ Generation) anyway”, drawing laughter.

Hearing that, Brian commented, “No, your visual is so SM’s style. You suit Girls’ Generation very well”. Kim Tae-gyun added, “You have the Girls’ Generation vibe on the outside but your side profile gives off a similar feeling to Eugene”. Sandara Park shyly responded, “I heard that a lot when I was young”.

Later, Kim Tae-gyun continued asking, “What does 2NE1 mean?”. Sandara Park explained, “The most powerful number in the Blackjack game is 21. If you get 21, you win over everyone”, adding “So we take the number, and NE means ‘New Evolution’, a new evolution in the 21st century. In general, it means we will keep developing”.

Brian commented, “I thought it meant you guys would be active for 21 years”, Sandara Park jokingly replied, “There’s not much time left until our 21st year”.
