Ryu Jun Yeol, who said he is not good at English, showed off unexpected English skills…Even Matt Damon was surprised

Actor Ryu Jun Yeol showed off unexpected English skills, which overshadowed his confession that he is not good at English.

On April 6th, Ryu Jun Yeol‘s interview video was uploaded on the magazine GQ Korea’s YouTube channel.

In the video, Ryu Jun Yeol said, “We can now watch the movie ‘Air’ in Korea. I woke up early in the morning to have an interview with the main actors Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Marlon Wayans and Chris Tucker.”

He said he woke up at 5 AM for this interview, adding, “I’m not good at English and I don’t know whether I’ll be able to communicate well, but I’m going to enjoy it since it’s a good opportunity.”

Ryu Jun Yeol, who met actors Matt Damon and Marlon Wayans through video, introduced, “I’m Korean actor Jun Yeol. I’m the only actor who can wake up this early. I woke up at 5 AM to interview you.” He then naturally continued the interview in fluent English.

Matt Damon burst into laughter at Ryu Jun Yeol’s joke. Marlon Wayans raised his thumb, saying, “You have the best set today. It’s really the best.”

Ryu Jun Yeol asked Matt Damon, “After the movie ‘Good Will Hunting’, you collaborated with Ben Affleck again. Did you two have any differences in opinions? Ben isn’t here right now, so you can be honest.”

Matt Damon replied, “Ben and I grew up together, so our tastes are very similar. We’ve never had a big difference in opinions. If one insists strongly, the other will respect.”

During the interview with Ryu Jun Yeol on the theme of “The Dream I Want to Achieve”, Matt Damon praised Ryu Jun Yeol, “Sometimes this industry urges me to step back, but after enduring all of this, I can stand in the position I wanted. Just like I’m having an interview with the most interesting man in the world (Ryu Jun Yeol).”

After finishing the interview successfully, Ryu Jun Yeol shared his thoughts, “It was a little hectic, but it was a fun time because the actors responded so kindly and sincerely.”

In particular, Ryu Jun Yeol surprised everyone by confessing that he prepared questions himself for this English interview.

Ryu Jun Yeol drew attention for his fluent English skills on many entertainment shows such as “Youth Over Flowers in Africa” and “Traveler-Cuba”. He is known to have developed his English skills by self-study through travel experiences and American dramas.

Meanwhile, “Air” (starring Matt Damon) is a film directed by Ben Affleck. This movie is based on true events about the origin of Nike’s own brand Air Jordan. It was released on April 5th.
