Rookie actress Ryu Da-in, who has starred in only three dramas, such as “18 Again”, “Crash Course in Romance” and “Pyramid Game”, confessed that the open relationship didn’t pressure her at all. She added, “I just need to show good acting and do my job well.”

Ryu Da-in and Lee Chae-min’s dating rumors broke out when a video witness of the two’s date in Seochon spread on the Internet. In the video, the two actors were walking on the streets while holding hands affectionately and taking great care of each other. Prior to that, the two constantly interacted with each other on SNS and even sent coffee trucks to each other’s filming set.

Recalling their Seochon date, Ryu Da-in laughed shyly and said, “Somehow, the weather was very nice that day. ‘Crash Course in Romance’ eventually became our fate, didn’t it?”. Some netizens pointed out that the two didn’t have any intention to hide their relationship even though they wore masks that day, and Ryu Da-in also agreed with it. The actress shared, “I’m a free-spirited person and I don’t hide anything. You may not believe it but I did try to hide it. I didn’t know people would be so interested in me. Hadn’t I tried to hide it, I wouldn’t have worn a mask. I even wore glasses that day”.

Ryu Da-in revealed that her relationship with Lee Chae-min is still going well and her boyfriend also enjoyed watching “Pyramid Game”.

Losing 5kg to play Myung Ja-eun in “Pyramid Game”

In “Pyramid Game”, Ryu Da-in portrayed Myung Ja-eun, a girl who is always timid but affectionate towards people and shines brighter in a crowd than she does alone. Playing a decisive role in abolishing the ‘Pyramid Game’, Myung Ja-eun keeps her belief and protects her friends from school violence. Ryu Da-in confessed, “I really liked my character. I decided to join this project because I was so into this person. After the drama aired, many people around me gave good feedback so I felt very relieved”. When asked if there were any difficulties in acting as Myung Ja-eun, a victim of school violence, the actress said, “It was mentally difficult. What surprised me was that the reality could be even more brutal than this.”

Listing 5kg to play her character, Ryu Da-in said, “Synchronization was very important because the original work was very popular. That’s why I tried to lose as much weight as I could. After much consideration, I decided to lose weight and tied my hair up”, adding “Also, I intentionally wore all black for Ja-eun. I wore only one pair of shoes and changed my shoes only once in episode 10. Another rare change was the zip-up hoodie. Other than that, it synchronized perfectly with the original work.”

Lastly, she shared, “The turning point of my life was definitely ‘Crash Course in Romance’. That drama made me feel like I could continue acting and I should work harder. However, Myung Ja-eun left another impression on me. Through this character, I felt the weight to work even more passionately. Since I love Ja-eun so much, I think she will continue to shine in the future”.
