Ruby Lin revealed that she voluntarily gave up alcohol nearly three years ago in order to better support her daughter throughout her childhood and emotional development.
According to the actress, becoming a mother completely changed her daily priorities and lifestyle habits. In the past, Ruby Lin often relaxed with a glass of alcohol after her daughter went to sleep, enjoying quiet personal time at night. However, she eventually decided to stop drinking altogether so she could focus more fully on parenting and maintaining her health.
Now, the actress spends her evenings beside her daughter, listening to stories about school and daily life. She shared that there are even times when she falls asleep before her child does.
Ruby Lin also revealed that she wakes up at exactly 7 AM every morning to take her daughter to school before enjoying breakfast and coffee afterward.
The actress has maintained an especially strict health routine over the past few years. She reportedly exercises five days a week through weight training, boxing, and yoga while carefully managing her diet. Ruby Lin follows a meal balance of one portion protein, two portions vegetables, and three portions carbohydrates. She also revealed that she has avoided sugar for nearly 20 years and does not eat after 6 PM.
According to Ruby Lin, motherhood made her far more sensitive about physical health and longevity.
“I turned the pressure of becoming a mother later in life into motivation for self-discipline,” she explained, adding that her biggest wish is to spend as much time as possible with her daughter.
The actress also shared sweet stories about her daughter’s growing affection and maturity. She described the child as thoughtful, emotionally perceptive, and even “more romantic than her father.” One moment especially touched Ruby Lin when her daughter quietly handed her tissues after noticing her using eye drops.
The child also secretly prepared a handmade Mother’s Day card and hinted at a special surprise gift, something Ruby Lin said made her extremely happy.
Meanwhile, Ruby Lin confirmed that she plans to begin filming a new television drama during the second half of this year. The project will reportedly feature her both as director and lead actress.
Ruby Lin rose to fame through iconic dramas including My Fair Princess and Romance in the Rain. In recent years, she has mainly focused on directing and producing projects in Taiwan.
Ruby Lin married actor Wallace Huo in 2016, and the couple welcomed their daughter in January 2017.
