BLACKPINK’s fandom has been in a frenzy after news of their contract renewal
On December 6th, YG officially confirmed that all four BLACKPINK members had renewed their contracts with the company for continued group activities, including new albums and world tour.
Later on the same day, there was a tweet on X sharing a screenshot of Weverse comments from Rosé. The fan translated her comment to, “BLINKs, I’m really sorry for keeping you waiting, but I’m glad that the news is finally out. BLACKPINK will always be together, so don’t worry. Let’s walk this flowery path together. Always stay by our side. Love you. By the way, I did a cover of a Christmas song—should I drop it?“
The tweet gained over 1.6 thousand retweets and a whopping 180 thousand views.
However, it was actually just a prank from the fan. On December 5th, Rosé was chatting with fans on Weverse. The comments the fan shared had nothing to do with BLACKPINK’s contract renewal. Many international fans were tricked by the mistranslation.
But an actual update from BLACKPINK after the renewal news was Jisoo’s. She shared a photo of all four members on her Instagram story, tagged BLACKPINK, and included cute black-and-pink heart emojis. No words, but it was clear that Jisoo was riding the excitement wave with the fans after the contract renewal news dropped.
