Robert Downey Jr. shocks fans with bald head on set of director Park Chan Wook’s “Sympathizer” 

“Iron Man” Robert Downey Jr. completely transformed his appearance for his role in “Sympathizer”. 

As reported by American media outlets such as Page Six, Robert Downey Jr. was captured on the set of director Park Chan Wook’s upcoming series “Sympathizer” in Los Angeles, USA on January 15 (local time).

In a released photo, Robert Downey Jr., with his hair entirely shaved off, was eating with the staff. In addition to his bald head, the “Iron Man” star was earlier spotted on set looking unrecognizable with his cold appearance and loss of hair. 

Robert Downey Jr. previously said in an interview, “I will play five roles in ‘Sympathizer’, including an LA congressman, a CIA agent and a film director.”

Robert Downey Jr. also joked on his social media account, saying, “My kids (aged 10 and 8) helped me change. They want me to shave my head.”

Meanwhile, “Sympathizer”, based on the 2016 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Vietnamese-American writer Viet Thanh Nguyen, depicts the story of an immigrant and double agent who settled in the United States after the Vietnam War.  Robert Downey Jr. said, “It takes an outstanding team to adapt Nguyen’s wonderful work. I look forward to director Park Chan Wook’s creative production process and expect it to be a stimulus to myself in a complex role.”

In particular, Robert Downey Jr. is known to get paid 2 million dollars per episode in this drama.
