Rising Stars Lee Do-hyun, Roh Sang-hyun and Ahn Hyo-seop Affirm Bright Future For Korean Films In 2024

Lee Do-hyun, Roh Sang-hyun, and Ahn Hyo-seop have emerged as the next-generation scene stealers.

The three actors are big stars who dominate the Korean small screen and are receiving great love even overseas. Lee Do-hyun impressed viewers around the world with the Netflix series “Sweet Home” and “The Glory” while Noh Sang-hyun with Apple TV+ “Pachinko.” Ahn Hyo-seop stood out as a Hallyu star with the SBS dramas “Dr. Romantic 2” and “Business Proposal.”

Lee Do-hyun, Roh Sang-hyun, and Ahn Hyo-seop occupied the screen with their handsome visuals and stable acting skills. The three will finally declare their screen debut in the new year of 2024, proving their infinite growth potential through ambitious expansion.

Lee Do-hyun made a successful big screen debut with the movie “Exhuma” (director/scripted by Jang Jae-hyun), which was released on Feb. 22. He transformed into Bong-gil, a shaman in the film. His long hair and tattoos all over his body gave off unprecedented charm and left a deep impression on the audience.

In particular, Lee Do-hyun’s perfect chemistry with Kim Go-eun gathered a lot of attention. The two was nicknamed the “MZ Exhuma Duo.” Lee also showed off his skills despite acting along seniors such as Kim Go-eun, Choi Min-sik and Yoo Hae-jin.

Even though he is a soldier currently serving in the military band of the Air Force, he made headlines by hitting a hit home run. He is about to become an honored 10-million-audience actor with his first movie as “Exhuma” already had a cumulative audience of 9,0133,161 as of March 16.

Noh Sang-hyun

Noh Sang-hyun, who quickly became a global sensation with “Pachinko,” will star in his first movie “Love in the Big City” this year. In particular, he made his screen debut as the next “Kim Go-eun’s Man” following Lee Do-hyun, raising expectations.

“Love in the Big City” is a movie about Jae-hee (Kim Go-eun), a free soul who no one ever notices, and Heung-soo (Roh Sang-hyun), who is master of hiding birth secrets, living together.

“Love in the Big City” is based on a novel with the same title written by Park Sang-young. The novel was nominated for the 2022 Booker Prize and the Dublin International Literature Prize. The Booker Prize is one of the world’s top three literary awards along with the Nobel Prize for Literature and the Goncourt Prize in France.

Amid enthusiastic interest from fans, Noh Sang-hyun started filming in July last year. Through Heung-soo’s character, he is expected to show off his personality and depth on the big screen.

Ahn Hyo-seop

Ahn Hyo-seop started filming his first movie “Omniscient Reader” in December last year. He made his screen debut with a strong lineup of superstar casts, drawing keen attention. Ahn Hyo-seop will act alongside Lee Min-ho, the original Korean Wave star, Jisoo, worldwide popular BLACKPINK member, Chae Soo-bin, Shin Seung-ho, Nana from After School, Park Ho-san, and Choi Young-joon.

“Omniscient Reader” is based on the popular Naver Web novel of the same name. It is a huge success, garnering more than 200 million views and explosive popularity overseas. The movie is a fantasy story about Kim Dok-ja (Ahn Hyo-seop), a person living in a world that has collapsed just like the content of a novel published for 10 years. He embarks on a journey to save the world with Yoo Joong-hyuk (Lee Min-ho), the main character in the novel.

Ahn is expected to show off his acting skills playing Kim Dok-ja, who is the only one who knows the ending of the novel “How to Survive a Destroyed World.”
