Born in 2001, Sungchan underwent about 4 years of trainee life under SM Entertainment from August 2016 and made his debut with boy group NCT in October 2020. After about 2 years and 7 months of activities with NCT, Sungchan re-debuted in September 2023 with rookie group RIIZE alongside fellow former NCT member Shotaro.
Sungchan is recognized as RIIZE’s representative visual member. His tall height of 186cm with large frame, distinct facial features and large, deer-like eyes are enough to attract fans.

Sungchan and Shotaro did not have a specific unit within NCT, leading to less active participation compared to other members, and some fans even referred to them as “painful fingers”. Fans welcomed the news of their re-debut, expressing gladness that they now have the opportunity to showcase talents that were not fully revealed before.
