Red Velvet Irene’s schedule got cut off after the “staff abuse” controversy

Red Velvet member Irene’s unfortunate recent situation continues.

Recently, related communities reported that Irene, who captivated not only the music industry but also the advertising industry in the past, is facing a situation where she has no schedule.

Irene emerged as a representative idol in Korea as Red Velvet‘s album activities were successful and used to completely captivate the public by advertising vitamins, cars, and even soju advertisements in which only top stars representing the time are selected.

She was very active in broadcasting activities, including various promotional ambassadors jobs, but her personal activities are nowhere to be found recently.

Irene, who used to represent Red Velvet, only appeared as a guest on the radio program hosted by Wendy, her group member.

This is due to the aftermath of Irene’s staff abuse scandal.

The controversy spread when stylist A, who has 15 years of experience, revealed that Irene abused her power to bully her in October 2020. Irene then posted an apology and suspended her activities, while her agency SM Entertainment also posted a separate apology.

Irene returned to her Red Velvet activities after a 10-month self-reflection period, but criticism still continues against her as some public resentment has not disappeared.

The controversy seemed to be over, but A, who exposed Irene’s power abuse, complained of continuous damage from malicious comments from a fandom in December last year and heralded legal action, which led to the incident re-surfacing.

As the controversy continued, Irene‘s personal activities, unlike other members of Red Velvet, are completely suspended.

Irene was also caught looking unknowingly thin at the time of the concert on January 1st, raising fans’ concerns.

At the time, Irene said on the stage, “We will show you a lot of great activities this year, so please continue to be with us.”
