Reasons Why BLACKPINK’s Jisoo Chose To Join Hands With Her Brother In Stead Of Making Her Own Company

BLAGLPINK’s Jisoo has reportedly become a business partner with her brother after her contract with YG Entertainment endded. Jennie, another member of Black Pink, established the label “ODD ATELIER (OA)” with her mother, a one-person agency, while Jisoo joined hands with her brother, who runs an infant health functional food company.

BioMom has recruited managers, video editing producers, design managers, accounting managers, and bodyguards for a new subsidiary. BioMom is expected to expand its entertainment business under the name of “Blissoo” with Jisoo as its main artist.

Usually, top singers leave their debut companies and sign contracts with existing entertainment companies or set up a new company with a manager they originally worked with, or set up a company with family members. Jisoo’s case is rather even more special as her brother’s company is not a typical entertainment company but a health functional food company for infants and toddlers.

BioMom was established in 2020. Its main product is lactobacillus for infants and toddlers. Biomomom recently participated in a parenting exhibition in Bangkok, Thailand, in December 2022, and is seeking entry into Southeast Asia. The news that Jisoo joined hands with her brother instantly made the company’s name known not only in Korea but also in Southeast Asia.

For Jisoo, she herself can lower the risk. This is because Jisoo chose to expand her brother’s business instead of establishing a company, thereby reducing various processes and expenses required by establishing a company, and utilizing her experience in operating the company. It is natural that Jisoo can easily adjust the profit structure in her favor while lowering the commission to be distributed to the company. In addition, BioMom will be able to handle many service costs for Jisoo’s management at the company level. Assuming that the recruitment announcement will recruit four people, she will be able to save a total of 100 million won for each labor cost a year.

It is a win-win structure that benefits both Jisoo’s entertainment activities and Jisoo’s brother’s business. While following the formula of “business expansion family enterprise” without establishing a company, Jisoo has found both justification and benefits.
