Kim Sun-ho said at the press call and press conference for “Touching the Void” held at Art One Theater 2 in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of July 20th, “I was offered a role in this work a long time ago, and I am grateful to my good colleagues for the opportunity.”

“I filmed a movie during the hiatus and spent a quiet time taking care of my health,” he said. “I spent a happy time preparing this with my colleagues on the stage. I’m still precious and grateful.”

“In particular, there is a line in the play that says, ‘It’s not about why we should go up there, it’s about why we shouldn’t go up there.’ That made me think a lot. This is a script that makes me think a lot about life, and it’s a good script that I want to do with them, and I want to share the message of the work with many people,” he said.

“Touch the Void”, which opened on July 8th, is based on the true story of the survival of British mountaineers “Jose Simpson” and “Simon Yates,” who climbed the western ice wall of Ciula Grande in the Peruvian Andes in 1985. Kim Sun-ho plays the role of “Jose,” a young mountain climber who is isolated in a snow mountain due to a distressing accident.
