Seungmin. whose full name is Kim Seungmin, was born on September 22, 2000. He is a member of famous K-pop boy group Stray Kids, and serves as the main vocal of the group.

Seungmin’s Basic Information
Seungmin was born in South Korea, and graduated from Cheongdam High School in 2019. He participated in JYP’s 13th Open Audition during high school and placed 2nd, leading to him joining JYP as a trainee in 2017.
It is known that Seungmin’s decision to audition was partly due to his school friend and JYP trainee at the time – AB6IX’s Lee Daehwi.
Seungmin’s Career
In 2017, Seungmin was officially revealed by JYP for his participation in the survival show “Stray Kids”. At the time, he was introduced with the “Vocal Role”.
In 2018, Seungmin debuted as the lead vocal of Stray Kids, but became the main vocal in 2019 after the departure of former member Woojin.
Seungmin is known to have worked as a fixed MC for Arirang TV’s English-language program “After School Club” for 5 months in 2018, and a fixed MC for KBS’s English-language program “We K-pop” in 2019.
Seungmin often releases covers as part of the series SKZ-RECORD, and in 2021, he co-wrote the duet song “”Piece of a Puzzle” for the SKZ-RECORD series along Changbin.
Ever since, he has released various solo OSTs, including “Here Always” (for “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” and “Close to You” (for “Love in Contract”).
In 2022, he participated in the writing and composition for the solo song “Stars and Raindrops” for the SKZ-REPLAY album, and dropped the song “Hold On” for SKZ-RECORD in 2023.
Additional facts about Seungmin
Seungmin originally dreamed of becoming a baseball player, but had to stop after suffering from an injury, among other problems. However, because he also likes singing, he won a nursery rhyme contest in elementary school and joined a choir.
Seungmin is known to have an older sister, and he learned English when he went to Los Angeles for 3 months. He is also the cleanest member of the group.
Despite Stray Kids being an extremely popular group, Seungmin always sought to improve himself, and is known to scout his own vocal teacher outside of JYP Entertainment. He now attends Voice Tuning classes alongside fellow member I.N, and his singing ability has improved tremendously.
Issues
In 2023, Seungmin, alongside Stray Kids members Lee Know and Hyunjin, suffered a traffic accident on their way to the dormitory and were immediately taken to the hospital. Fortunately, no one in the vehicle sustained serious injuries. However, Seungmin ended up having to cancel his birthday livestream due to the incident.
In 2024, Seungmin, alongside fellow member Changbin, was photographed without consent at a skincare clinic, and was even mocked for his appearance. While the post of this has been taken down, fans are outraged at the blatant privacy invasion and urging JYP Ent to address the issue to protect Stray Kids members.
