Later on, videos showing the members’ skills and information were published from January 12 to February 6, with Rami being the 1st to be introduced and Ruka being the last.

At first, it was announced in the 8th episode of “Last Evaluation” that only 5 of the 7 girls will be making their debut, but in May, it was announced that all 7 members will be part of the final lineup.

Their 1st official 7-member song, “Sheesh”, also did exceptionally well on Korean music charts, slowly climbing the charts and staying on the Top 10 on music streaming platform Melon for a long time.

Additionally, BABYMONSTER has became presenters for Pepsi in the Asia-Pacific region, global partners of Adidas, and the face of cosmeceutical brand CNP Laboratory

Controversies

Back in 2023, videos of member Ahyeon using the n-word, a discriminatory term used against black people during one of her old performances at school started to spread on SNS platforms.  As a result, many international fans expressed their disappointment and demanded YG Entertainment to speak up regarding the situation.

According to fans at the time, Ahyeon learned English since an early age, so she is likely aware of the negative connotations carried by the n-word.

However, Ahyeon and YG never responded to the controversy, and Ahyeon later went into a hiatus due to health issues, only returning much later with the release of mini-album “BABYMONS7ER”.
