Rado, also known as Song Joo-young, a South Korean producer, composer, and lyricist, recently appeared on the 상수동 작업실 YouTube channel and made a surprising revelation about one of TWICE’s most iconic tracks.
Rado, best known as one half of the hit-making duo Black Eyed Pilseung alongside Choi Kyu-sung, has produced some of TWICE’s biggest hits including “Cheer Up,” “TT,” “Likey,” and “Fancy.”
However, during the video titled “‘Already One Year’ Behind StoryㅣTrusted a Friend and Joined as a Guest, Almost Got Into Trouble” he disclosed an unexpected behind-the-scenes fact: TWICE’s debut track “Like OOH-AHH” was originally offered to Red Velvet before ending up with JYP Entertainment’s rookie girl group.

This revelation shocked fans, considering “Like OOH-AHH” became TWICE’s breakout debut song in 2015. Netizens were quick to react, with many expressing curiosity about how Red Velvet might have interpreted the track, while others noted that the song fit TWICE’s bright and energetic concept perfectly.
- It really doesn’t suit them. Good thing it was given to TWICE.
- Yeah, it fits TWICE better—it feels like a song for a large-member group, haha.
- Wow, but I am curious how it would have turned out if Red Velvet had gotten it.
- It’s not that the song wouldn’t suit Red Velvet, but since it was made to match TWICE, it just feels perfect for them.
- Wow, it doesn’t fit… it really doesn’t have that SM vibe.
- Interesting—it’s not Red Velvet’s style, but it definitely is TWICE’s style.
- If it had gone to SM, they probably would’ve shelved it. It suits TWICE perfectly.
- Back then, that would’ve been around Ice Cream Cake and Dumb Dumb, right? Haha, I just can’t imagine Red Velvet singing Like OOH-AHH.

With Black Eyed Pilseung’s reputation as one of K-pop’s most successful producing duos, this behind-the-scenes story adds a new layer of appreciation for how K-pop’s biggest hits sometimes shift between groups before finding their final home.
