The president sent his praise to the Squid Game stars duo Lee Jung Jae and Jung Ho Yeon after their winning at the SAG Awards.
Rejoice at the Best Actor/Actress Award in the Drama category that the duo Lee Jung Jae and Jung Ho Yeon respectively won at the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2022 (Award of the Screen Actors Guild-American SAGA) thanks to their role in Squid Game, South Korean President Moon Jae In sent congratulatory message:
“The Squid Game has brought a lot of joy to viewers around the world. We have created a new genre of drama that depicts a different human psyche based on Korean traditional games and received love from people around the world with a deep social sense. In particular, the actors’ excellent acting really shined in the work.
I would like to congratulate actors Lee Jung Jae and Jung Ho Yeon for winning the Best Actor and Actress awards at the Screen Actors Guild of America awards. This is a great honor after the series of awards of Parasite and Youn Yuh Jung‘s Best Supporting Actress award at the Oscars.
I am even more proud to know that the Squid Game is the first non-English-language TV series ever to receive this nomination. Actress Jung Ho Yeon, formerly known as a model, has achieved great success in her debut, and actor Lee Jung Jae, who has been recognized for his acting skills, led the film with insightful acting.
Just like the feelings of the two actors, this is both an honor for the film crew and an honor for Korea. A lot of effort has been made to make our culture more and more noticed and loved by people around the world.
