On September 7, Park Yoochun posted several photos on his personal account with the caption: “I’ll definitely come back to Nagoya again. Thank you so much. I’ll continue to work hard with my family and everyone.”

In the photos, he is seen smiling brightly in a patterned shirt. Once celebrated as a top idol visual, his appearance now looks noticeably different compared to his peak years, with thinning hair and a changed face catching public attention.

In 2019, Park Yoochun was indicted and arrested for purchasing and using methamphetamine with his ex-girlfriend Hwang Ha-na. At first, he tearfully denied the allegations in a press conference, swearing on his career that he had never used drugs. However, when the police investigation began, he admitted to the charges, which sparked heavy backlash. He was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for two years, along with a fine of 1.4 million KRW, probation, and mandatory drug treatment. After 68 days in custody, he was released. Despite pledging to “live honestly and serve society,” he quickly faced criticism again for posting photos of fan gifts shortly after release.

Following this, Park reversed his retirement announcement and resumed activities mainly overseas. Still, he remained at the center of controversies, including a contract dispute with his agency, a tax arrears case involving 400 million KRW, and a high-profile romance with a Thai heiress that ended in breakup.

Currently living in Japan, Park Yoochun released a new mini-album Metro Love on August 20 and began promotions for his new music. More notably, he has also returned to television variety shows, appearing on Tokyo MX’s Room 70’s Master. He expressed his contentment with life in Japan, saying, “I’m so happy being here that I don’t care if it’s hot or cold.”
