Actor Park Soo Oh is quickly emerging as one of Korea’s most promising young stars following the global success of Netflix series “If Wishes Could Kill.”
The 2005-born actor has recently drawn renewed attention not only for his performance in the hit horror drama, but also for his impressive academic background. Reports revealed that Park previously left Hanyang University’s Media Communication department before later enrolling in the Philosophy department at Yonsei University — one of Korea’s top universities.
In “If Wishes Could Kill,” Park Soo Oh plays Han Ki Tae, the creator of a mysterious application capable of granting wishes. The app soon becomes tied to a terrifying curse that threatens the lives of high school students.

From his very first appearance, Park Soo Oh captured viewers’ attention with his sharp visuals and intense screen presence. He became a key figure driving the story forward while portraying the unstable emotions and psychological anxiety of teenage boys with detailed nuance.
The series itself has also become a global hit. According to reports, “If Wishes Could Kill” recorded 7.5 million views during its second week after release, ranking No.1 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English TV chart. The drama reportedly topped rankings in 24 countries and entered the Top 10 in 64 countries.

Before this breakout moment, Park Soo Oh had already begun building a solid acting résumé through appearances in dramas including MBC’s A Head Coach’s Turnover and Oh My Ghost Clients. Viewers praised the young actor for portraying emotionally layered characters with sincerity and depth.
Park Soo Oh’s acting journey has also become a topic of interest among netizens. In 2019, he reportedly beat 1,000 competitors to land the role of young Gwisoo in the film “The Divine Move 2: The Wrathful.” The role served as one of his earliest major career breakthroughs.

Following the success of “If Wishes Could Kill,” Park Soo Oh is already preparing for his next project. The actor has been cast in upcoming JTBC drama “Gold Digger,” where he will play Seo Hyun Min, the youngest son of Min Young Joo, portrayed by Kim Hee Ae.
