Park Seo Joon will dominate the Korean screen in 2023: The actor is making a series of anticipated comebacks with IU and Han So Hee, including a Hollywood debut in the near future
Park Seo Joon has been lying low for a while only to prepare for a grand comeback as ever.
Park Seo Joon is one of the male actors that boasts a large-scale fan base. As his popularity rises so does his carefulness in choosing the right script. Throughout 2020, apart from “Itaewon Class,” the actor has not taken part in any other projects. Instead, he maintained attraction with several program appearances.
2023 is referreed to by the Korean media as “the year of Park Seo Joon” because of the sheer numbers of finished projects the actor has in store for us.
Marking his return to the small screen in three years (after “Itaewon Class”), Park Seo Joon returns as the male lead in Netflix’s original series, “Gyeongseong Creature,” starring alongside Han So Hee. The series takes place in 1945, following the story of Jang Tae Sang (Park Seo Joon), the wealthiest man in Gyeongseong and the owner of the Golden Jade House. Han So Hee plays Yun Chae Ok, a specialist in finding missing people who knows how to blend in with the crowd and is well-trained in using guns, knives and different types of machines. Two strangers will have to face and fight a creature in order to survive.
The series is set to air in the first half of 2023 and is confirmed to have a second part. The actors are expected to reprise their roles.
Park Seo Joon is also set to return to the big screen with the movie “Dream,” starring alongside IU. Despite the delayed production process due to the pandemic, the crew and cast have been able to wrap up filming and are in the post-production to prepare for the release this year.
The movie is about a group of people trying their luck at a global sports event called the “Homeless World Cup.” Park Seo Joon plays the famous football player Yoon Hong Dae who has to halt his career due to a disciplinary probation and becomes the coach of a football team of the homeless. In training the “dream team,” Hong Dae receives help from the female director Lee So Min (IU), who follows the team to make a documentary about them.
Park Seo Joon is also confirmed to be taking part in “Concrete Utopia,” starring alongside Lee Byung Hun and Park Bo Young. The movie tells the story of the survivors of a city in ruins wrecked by a terrifying earthquake. The poster has been dropped but the release date has not been revealed.
Moreover, Park Seo Joon is preparing to debut in Hollywood with “The Marvels” and is rumored to be Amadeus Cho, a Korean – American known for his jaw-dropping intellect. Many sources of information said the movie would be released in July.
