The 8th London Asian Film Festival, a platform to introduce Asian films, including South Korea, to Europe, has successfully concluded
According to the organizers of the London Asian Film Festival on November 1st, the festival, held in the UK, came to a close with the screening of director Eom Tae-hwa’s ‘Concrete Utopia,’ which was the closing film on October 29th (local time), followed by an awards ceremony.
Park Bo-young, the lead actress of ‘Concrete Utopia,’ received the ‘Best Actor Award.’ Park Bo-young expressed her gratitude and honor, “It’s my first award from abroad, so I’m incredibly thankful and honored.”
Hong Sa-bin, who played the lead role in the competition section film ‘Hopeless’, received the ‘Rising Star Award.’
The Best Film Award in the competition section went to Kim Sung-hwan’s feature debut film ‘Iron Mask,’ a work depicting the emotional growth of a kendo athlete with a troubled mind. The Jury Prize was awarded to the film ‘Amiko’ directed by Mori Yusuke.
A total of 49 films were invited. ‘Concrete Utopia’ drew particular attention among the invited films, as it was the first to sell out the 800-seat screening hall.
