Meanwhile, though her fellow cast member, Park Bo-gum, was not named Best Actor, he won viewers’ hearts with a touching off-stage gesture.

IU was visibly emotional as she took the stage to accept the award. Reflecting on her journey with the drama, she called “When Life Gives You Tangerines” the source of pride in her life, and before thanking the entire cast and crew for giving her chance to assume her roles and “had the most fun” in her life.

“Every moment from when I first received the offer until the show aired was precious,” IU also added, before ending her speech on a nostalgic note as she echoed an iconic quote from the show, sending the audience into cheers.

At the same time, although Park Bo-gum was nominated for Best Actor for his performance in the same drama, the award ultimately went to Joo Ji-hoon for “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call”. However, Bo-gum still had one of the most talked-about moments of the night.

As IU walked up to receive her award, Bo-gum was caught on camera as he was the entire moment on his phone, completely immersed in the proud “fan boy” mode. The actor’s sweet support not only underlined the genuine chemistry between the two stars but also touched fans who celebrated their friendship on social media.
