After ELLE UK sparked outrage for cropping Rosé out of a group photo featuring Saint Laurent muses, fans are now turning their attention to Jennie, who recently deleted a photo of herself with Rosé on Instagram.
Earlier, in July, Jennie had posted a series of backstage moments from BLACKPINK’s DEADLINE tour stop in Los Angeles. Among the uploads were individual photos with each member, including a tender shot of her leaning on Rosé’s shoulder. But fans quickly noticed that the photo with Rosé was quietly removed—while images with Lisa and Jisoo remained untouched.
Particularly, on July 18, Jennie uploaded nearly 40 behind-the-scenes images from the LA leg of the group’s concert, showcasing joyful moments with staff, dancers, and fellow BLACKPINK members. The photos painted a picture of fun, until fans noticed one photo was missing shortly after it was posted.
The image in question? A sweet moment where Jennie rests her head on Rosé’s shoulder. It contained no wardrobe mishaps or controversial elements, yet Jennie removed it almost immediately, while keeping images with Jisoo, Lisa, and even trio shots that noticeably excluded Rosé.
The deletion didn’t go unnoticed, as some fans baselessly interpreted it as a sign of possible tension between Jennie and Rosé. Fans of Rosé expressed anger, accusing Jennie of disrespect and pointing out that Rosé would have been heavily criticized had she also deleted a photo with Jennie.
