[Pann]Netizens question why anti-fans keep using this picture to mock IVE’s Jang Wonyoung

IVE’s Jang Wonyoung is often the target of unnecessary hate. 

Since Jang Wonyoung was revealed to be of Chinese descent, the young idol has been subjected to malicious comments from her anti-fans who claim she is not an “authentic” Korean idol. 

A recent Pann post recently questions why anti-fans keep using a picture of Jang Wonyoung doing a three-finger gesture to hate on her and asks what it means.

In the comments, other Korean netizens defend Jang Wonyoung and explain that she gets criticized only because this is allegedly the hand gesture Chinese use to count to three.

• Seriously, every time this picture of Jang Won Young is posted, it’s so frustrating. She was only showing approval or agreement. The subtitles are a joke that the fans made.
• I think it’s because that’s how Chinese people count numbers, so the haters keep posting it. I wonder why they make a big deal out of it.
• But why do they post it to criticize her? When I see that picture, I just think, “She was pretty and cute back then.” That’s it. I don’t understand why they complicate it by talking about China and stuff. I just don’t get it. 
• It’s not even a picture that has any significant meaning, they just bring it up to mock her. It’s just a gesture of saying “okay,” what’s the problem?
